Getting Here Grounds Tour
Celebrate the beginning of the spring paddling season on the shores of Hood Canal; Washington’s only true fjord. Join us for races, clinics, paddling gear swap and demonstrations.

Participant Qualifications:

This race is considered a cold, open water race. Participants must be dressed for cold water immersion and have the physical ability and experience to complete the race they sign up for, the race director may change a participants entry from long course to short course if experience and type of equipment is deemed unsafe for the long course

race course subject to change based upon weather conditions

long course: (approximately 6 miles)
cross open water and could face strong winds and current in both directions of the crossing

short course: (approximately 3 miles)
stay along one shoreline and be a round trip route (down and back), possibly facing wind and current in both directions.

kids paddle course: (approx. ¼ mile)
circular route around the T dock at Alderbrook, starting on one side of the leg and paddling around the top of the T, returning to the other side of the leg. It is fairly protected and close to the dock at all times, but current and wind can affect paddlers.

Winners of each class will be entered into a drawing for the grand prize: An overnight stay and dining credit at Alderbrook!

“Saint Paddles Day” Stand-up Paddle Board Yoga Class

Welcome Spring with our beginning level stand-up paddle board yoga class at Saint Paddles Day! Alderbrook Resort and Spa’s annual event is on Saturday, March 24th. We will continue the festivities with our annual S.U.P. yoga basics class on Sunday, March 25th, 2018. Two 60 minute sessions will be led by Michelle Pugh at Alderbrook’s dock at 10:30 a.m. and Noon. Pre-registration is required by March 21st, 2018 on our rates page. We are limited to 7 paddle boards per session. Please sign-up soon to save your space! If you have your own paddle board, please call Michelle at 360.556.6205 to sign-up and make arrangements to bring your own board.

Date: Sunday, March 25th, 2018 … rain or shine!

Time: Session 1 – 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and Session 2 – Noon to 1:00 p.m.

Cost: $55.00 per person (includes 1 S.U.P. board rental) is due by March 21st, 2018 at

What to bring: Please dress in layers and bring a water bottle for hydration.
