October Guest Experiences

October is a month on Hood Canal where we can slow down a bit to enjoy the bounty of summer’s harvest and admire the autumn leaves changing colors. 
Most activities are complimentary to hotel guests and $10 for non-hotel guests.


Monday in October:

Explore the historic community of Union with our shopping shuttle service for guests from our property to the Union City Market and nearby stores.

Canal Cinemas: October 6th, Morris From America (Thursday)
Union City Market, 6:30-8:30PM, $10 per person

Enjoy a movie under the stars on Hood Canal the 1st Thursday of every month. Dragonfly Cinema, from Port Orchard, has partnered with Union City Market to create a nostalgic, monthly celebration of Hood Canal charm. Movies will be offered the 1st Thursday of every month and will be shown outside, weather permitting. Cost is $10 per person for cinema enthusiasts of all ages. Tickets can be purchased online via Brown Paper Tickets, at Union City Market or by calling 360.898.3500 or at the register the day of the show. Food and drink will be available for purchase at Union City Market. Outside food and drink will not be permitted.

October will feature Morris from America, written by Chad Hartigan MOVIE INFO: This coming-of-age drama follows 13-year-old Morris as he moves to Heidelberg, Germany with his father and adjusts to his vastly different home. Rating: R (for teen drug use and partying, sexual material, brief nudity, and language throughout)

Full Moon Yoga: October 16th (Sunday)

Canal Cookout: October 20th (Thursday)
Union City Market, 6-8PM

CiderHood: October 28th & 29th (Friday & Saturday)

On Friday, October 28th, Executive Chef, Josh Delgado, will showcase his expertise through pairings with locally made ciders in a 5 course dinner. $85 per person, please CLICK HERE for online reservations. On Saturday, October 29th, sip cider from 15 Washington and Oregon cideries while savoring locally gathered culinary treats from the region including paella, Hood Canal salmon, Skokomish Valley produce, Hama Hama oysters and more.

Cidercraft magazine has partnered with Alderbrook Resort & Spa to celebrate the Hood Canal Harvest season with locally crafted hard cider paired with locally foraged, farmed and harvested culinary treats from the region. Please call us at 360.898.2200 for more information.
